Will your iMac Ship Broken?

As most of us know apple has come out with a new iMac coming in 21.5 and 27inch displays. However 2 well documented problems about these imacs is the shipping, many are ariving to homes with cracked screens or some simply will not boot, check out more info or vote if your imac will be shipped cracked at Gizmodo

The Mac Tablet

Everyone is always saying apple is an advanced company, so why haven't they come out with this? This is a prototype of the "mac tablet". Apple has had the idea for years and they definitely have the technology for it, in fact alot of people thought apple would have come out with this years ago because apple has proven they have great "touch" technology through the iPhone and iPod touch. So why haven't they put this on the market yet? There are still alot of companies on this thought, apple still has to decide if they should put leopard or the ipod touch software on this. If they use the ipod touch software its not like they could use the same processor plus this is suppose to be more like a computer so I am pretty sure they are trying to come up with an ipod touch/leopard software so it looks like the ipod touch software but has drivers for mouses or flash drives. I personally hope they put leopard on this because if they expect people to buy this, these people would use it as a computer not an ipod. There are still so many questions, like "if there is a usb how would I open a powerpoint on the ipod touch software?" Apple is still trying to perfect this and when they do come out with it am sure it will be amazing.

Dell Inspiron Zino

This is the Dell inspiron Zino or "Dell's Mac Mini" dell was bound to come out with some type of smaller desktop, Dell calls it there idea and that the name is new. Dell was going to come out with a mini desktop which could have looked like anything, it could have looked like a circle it could have looked like anything yet it just happens to look like the mac mini. So it is pretty obvious where Dell got their idea. Personally it looks cool and it starts at a nice price yet apple had had the mac mini for years now so in a way Dell made it look like they did'nt have the technology until now to come out with this. This kind of goes both ways, the new nano now has a radio when the zune has had a radio since 2002. In other words I am sure Dell could have came out with this years ago kind of like how the nano could have had a radio but back to computers, this is why I think apple is so ahead with there computers, because they do not wait as much, I am sure Dell or Toshiba could be ahead but when you have to deal with a bunch of different companies like Intel Nivida and Microsoft it makes it hard to come out with these things quickly. I am sure Dell had the idea for the Zino 2 years ago but by the time all the companies where in order 2 years had gone by. Still its a cool computer and something to check out especially if you do basic things and do not want to spend to much money.

The iMac has looked cool since the iMac g3 yet apple recently came out with a new imac. This iMac is even thinner then the last and now can be upgraded to 16 gig of ram. This iMac can have up to 2 terabytes or storage or 2000-gig or HDD space. This iMac now comes custom with the bluetooth wireless keyboard and the new magic mouse. This iMac comes with apple's latest OS, snow leopard. The iMac has 2 choices of screen sizes, 21.5" or 27". 27" seems kinda big to me personally. Its amazing to me how all of these specs are fit into the new imac which is not much bigger then the cinema display. This is another awsome computer made by an awsome company. This iMac is a great holiday gift for someone that is sick of PC :)

The New Mac Mini

Apple came out with a new mac mini with 2x the memory. The Mac mini is a cool looking small desktop from apple, if you want an apple and do not want to spend much money the mac mini is a great choice because it starts at $600. Apple also came out with a mac mini server which is really nice for someone that does not want to spend such a large amount of money on an xserve "which is a server". The mac mini is one of the most smallest desktops yet it still contains allot of power. I would definitely recommend it to someone who does not want to spend to much money and to someone who likes having a separate monitor. Also people don't realize how incredibly small it is, with ram, a hardrive, a super drive, and motherboard, I mean to fit all of that in the size of the mac mini is incredible. Apple did a great job with the mac mini for that last few years.

The New Macbook

Apple came out with a new macbook consisting of mostly features that have been on the macbook pro for a while. Apple has had the same macbook for 2 to 3 years now and it was time for a make over. Apple came out with the new white macbook made from a unibody "1 piece" and has the 7 hour non user replaceable battery and the new glass trackpad "like the ones on the macbook pros". This macbook has no fire wire, no sound in, and no sd card slot, and the keyboard does not light up like the macbook pro does. Also, this computer is for people who do basic things, managing photos does seem kind of basic so it would have been nice if apple put an sd cars slot reader on the laptop. How ever this is still a great laptop for basic use and I would recommend this laptop to people who do basic things. As I said , it was time for a macbook make over and apple did a great job, and just in time for the Holidays to!

Computer Failure

If you are like 90% of the world and use Microsoft and if you have a problem with your computer, if you have vista that explains your problem. Still, most people have xp computers, if you have been good to your computer and there is a problem it is usually software related, if not, replacing the hard drive, installing xp or linux, and upgrading the ram should do the trick. If you still have a problem you can go give Bill gates another $700 for another wonderful computer. (Get a mac)

The new iPod nano

The new nano is very successful for apple, the iPod was a brilliant invention from the start. The new nano can come equipped with 8 or 16 gig of memory. The iPod nano now comes with a radio and camera mostly for video. Many of people have wondered why apple has not put a camera on the iPod touch. As most people know, the iPod touch is very similar to the iPhone except you can not call people and you do not have a camera like the iPhone. The iPod touch makes you want an iPhone a lot, that is actually suppose to be the touch's job (to make you want the iPhone). If apple put a camera on an iPod touch it would become almost to much like the iPhone. The iPhone has a camera and the iPod touch does not, apple intense to keep it that way. Back on topic, the new nano has a radio which is very handy to have though the zune has had a radio for a while now, just because apple comes out with a radio on a nano its like O MY GOD A RADIO THATS AWSOME!!! The nano has a new feature (nike + ipod) which is very useful when running, probably the most efficient way to keep track of where you are and your time while running. The iPod still has music and videos that can be selected easier and more efficient also. The new nano has great software and hardware. The new nano is a great successes from a successful company.

Our are files really safe?

Why is it when we finish backing up precious photos, movies, and documents on to a disc or hard drive we still do not feel safe. As we all know, even if we treat a disc like gold it will eventually be scratched or become unreadable. To me, discs are temporary, when I back something up on a disc it is in my head that I have to back it up some where else. This statement does not just go for pc users but also mac users. Macs can have problems or hard drive failure too. When you back your files up on to a external hard drive you still shouldn't feel safe because hard drives can last for 10 years and they can last for 1 year, you just have to be prepared. Online backups such as Windows Live and Mobile Me are very handy and helpful, though Mobile Me is not free. Flash memory (flash drive or stick) tends be pretty reliable to, that does not mean it can not break. So remember, everything breaks eventually living or nonliving, and with computers, you just need to be prepared for it.

PC or Mac?

This is probably the biggest question people ask themselves before buying a computer. When you walk into a local store like Micro Center or Best Buy, you see Macs and PC's. Just because there is more or less of something does not make it better or worse. Just because the computer has plastic or aluminum covering does not make it better or worse. In the end it is what your needs are when on a computer. I can't say which one is better because I do not think one is better, apple and windows are both successful computer companies, it all depends on what your needs are. When at Best Buy or Micro Center you should just tell them your needs. Mostly if your a gamer though, PC, if your a video and picture editor mac is always a bit more user friendly with that. So which one is better, one is better based on an opinion, but in reality, the better one is the one that fits your needs

The MacBook Pro

The MacBook Pro tends to be in the middle of things. It now has three wonderful screen sizes and now has a new extreme battery that can last from 6-8 hours depending on the model. The MacBook Pro now has one aluminum outer covering with a backlit keyboard though I wish they added a keypad for the 17 inch, I guess they didn't because well its part of some signature of theirs. The MacBook Pro is a great laptop by a great company.

MacBook air

The macbook air might be apple's first mistake. Honestly there are few features, one usb and no disc drive. With an external drive all of your usb's are gone. Honestly who wants to carry around a hub. The only uses I found is for people that go on several business trips and give a lot of power points or keynotes. Plus just because its apple everyone hears about it, before the macbook air msi (a professional company like ibm) made one with 2 usb's and is just as thin. I would rather have a net book because it is still easily portable (like the air) yet a netbook has at least 2 to 3 usb's (unlike the air) and it has sound in and out (also unlike the macbook) so I would probably never recommend the macbook air to anyone. They may have made a laptop that is very thin and functional but until apple makes a laptop that is thin but can actually fit some peoples needs, I will never waste my money on an air an I hope you do not either.

The ipod touch

The ipod touch is an amazing ipod with more then a billion apps to try. It does everything from listening to music to checking e-mail (with internet connection of course). Though after using an ipod touch it only makes you want an iPhone more. The ipod touch now comes in 8, 32,and 64 gig of memory. I have the 16gig which seemed like a perfect size of memory for me. A friend of mine wants one, though with apps, photos, videos, and music 8gig is to small for him, yet he doesn't need 32 gig. Plus I really don't no many people that would need a 64 gig ipod touch unless your a DJ. But if you are a DJ you should just have a laptop with like a 500 gig hardrive for music. Back to the subject, the ipod touch possibly is the funnest ipod and mp3 player ever, I give it a pretty good rating and would definitely recommend it to many people.

White MacBook

The white macbook is a cheaper laptop model of apple, yet it is perfect for people that long for a mac and do basic things such as e-mail, manage pictures and videos, using word. It bothers allot of people that dirt shows up very easily, honestly if it bothers you so much just get the macbook pro for $200 more. In conclusion the white macbook is a perfect model for basic people that do basic things.
